Yaga Gathering festival in Lithuania
Yaga is an open-air event held in Lithuania in a lakeside area surrounded by Dzukija forests. The event was started in 2003 by a group of friends who wanted to create a location where people could make a positive difference, have fun, feel accepted, and be more connected. Yaga maintained its core ideals. It is now sponsored annually by around 180 artists, 150 volunteers, a dedicated organizational team, and the encouragement of families, long-term friends, and partners.Yaga is committed to a multifaceted array of creative genres, including performance, installation, video, and music at its core. Yaga seeks to promote positive change in individuals, communities, and greater society by establishing a utopian playground and fostering interactions, self-exploration, and artistic expression.Transformation is a vital component of Yaga's fabric. In Sanskrit, Yaga implies sacrifice — an individual process of self-realization in which voluntary and involuntary abandonments are made, recognized, accepted, and transformed into future benefits.
The event grounds are 60 kilometres south of Vilnius, near a lake and a small river. The location is surrounded by beautiful Dzukijas woodlands and has a nearby water source where everyone can fill their bottles with fresh spring water.
